Default Wishbone inserts

These stainless steel wishbone inserts make it very easy to make your own speargun bands. They insert easily into the rubber tubing. They have a pronounced lip which a constrictor knot holds very securely inside the band. Wishbones tend to deteriorate before the rubber bands, the wishbone inserts eliminate the hassle of retying the bands to replace the wishbone. The Dyneema wishbone is replaced by simply tying a knot at each end. When the band deteriorates the wishbone inserts are reusable. $6 for a pair plus $5 shipping, or pick up in Fort Lauderdale.

I can be contacted by email at info@pursuitspearfishing.com

Notice how easy it is to insert the wishbone insert even into a reduced inner diameter (1/16 ID) speargun band http://www.freedivingspearfishing.co...-diameter.html I'm basically doing it with one hand after having lubricated it with spit.

I have a pair of these wishbones inserts sitting in a cup of seawater to see how good the stainless steel really is. I also need someone to test them in real conditions. I'm willing to make a pair of 5/8 reduced ID bands with these inserts at %50 off for someone local who's diving a lot so they can install them on their gun. hau?

It might be better to insert it to a piece of rubber, as if it were in use, and put it in seawater.

The bands contain sulfur so that might hurry up results and be more realistic.

Dan do you know the alloy? even if they get a little patina it's not going to matter. throw them in some Coke a cola over night and they will be bright and shinny again. I'm going to post a little mod(this weekend) you can do for pennys that will create more laminar flow at the band end.(less drag).
Cheers Don

You mean something to cover up the knot? Looking forward to it. I hope it's not shrink tubing though because that stuff always falls off.

I've had these wishbone inserts in and out of salt water for a week now and not even a little stain, so they're truly stainless steel.

Don, what about your mod?
